NEWS: Man completes 28-year walk around the world

A British man has completed an amazing 28-year walk around the world. Former soldier Karl Bushby, 57, arrived home in the city of Hull in England on Monday. He started his adventure in November 1998 in Chile, South America. His plan was to walk all the way home without using cars, boats, buses, trains, or airplanes. During his journey, he travelled about 58,000 kilometres through 29 countries. He crossed frozen seas, deserts, mountains, and jungles. He also faced many dangers. These included encountering polar bears and kidnappers, and spending time in a Russian prison. His journey was expected to take 12 years. However, problems with money, visas, and borders made his trip a lot longer. Thousands of people welcomed Mr Bushby home. He was very happy to finally finish his journey. His mother was waiting outside his childhood home to greet him. Bushby joked: "Sorry to keep you waiting." He also told the cheering crowd that many people around the world had helped him get home. A man in Brazil had a sad experience in his search for love. Mr X, 49, sold everything he owned to get enough money to see a woman he met online. He travelled over 2,000 kilometres by bus. He first met her online in 2020 and fell in love with her. He wanted to marry her. Her name was Jessica. Her online profile read: "I really want to support you. I want you to come to my farm and never work again in your life." Mr X went to meet her in the city of Belo Horizonte, but he could not find her. He showed people photos of her, but nobody knew who she was. He then found out that she was not real. She was created by AI. The man was sad. He said: "I came here to find happiness." Mr X's story shows how risky it can be to look for love online. Many people feel lonely and want to find a partner. However, they can be easily tricked because AI can make people who look and sound real. Jessica's social media account had over 300,000 followers. She looked like a real woman....

Oxford Street

One of London's most famous shopping streets has been pedestrianized. This means no cars, buses, trucks, or motorbikes can enter it. The street is called Oxford Street. It is well known all over the world. It used to be full of traffic. The Mayor of London, Sir Sadiq Khan, decided to make it pedestrian-only. Around one kilometre of the street is off limits to vehicles. However, delivery trucks can use the area between midnight and 7 am. Mayor Khan hopes the pedestrianization will bring more shoppers back to the area. He called it a very important event for London. Mr Khan also plans to plant more trees along the street, create public squares, and add more seats and tables. There have been mixed reactions to the pedestrianization of Oxford Street. Many people support the plan. They are happy that the area will be less polluted. Khan said a traffic-free Oxford Street would "unlock the full potential" of an important area of London and help make a better, greener, and riche...
